Swabian Inventive Spirit - A Tradition

From Graf Zeppelin to Gottlieb Daimler, Baden Württemberg is a German land with an impressive inventor tradition. Some ingenious spirits have allowed themselves to be inspired in fertile field, wood and vine land between Rhine and Neckar to highest performance playing a role today all over the world. Between Stuttgart and Heidelberg, in the Swabian wine village of Frauenzimmern, the best parquet sander in the world was developed almost 30 years ago.

Eugen Lägler - An Ingenious "Fiddler"

Born in Frauenzimmern and trained as a mechanical engineer, Eugen Lägler recognised in the fifties the significance of automation in parquet sanding. Only anything in this direction which had been presented up to then neither met his ideas of quality nor his convictions with respect to a rational, economic method of working. In countless processes he attempted to integrate modern belt sand technology into a small and mobile machine and finally registered a machine for patent at the end of the seventies which today still sets the standard for first-class parquet processing.

The Hummel Sander - A Legend

He called this first belt sander for parquet processing "Hummel" due to its humming drive noise, without foreseeing that this name would soon advance to a synonym for perfect parquet sanding. In those times one was convinced by ability, marketing and advertising played more a subordinate role. Solely the machine and its practical advantages enthused all involved in the trade to whom Eugen Lägler presented his system. The Hummel asserted itself and developed to become the most important work machine for parquet layers in Germany, in Europe and finally in the whole world. For Eugen Läglers young machine factory in Frauenzimmern completely new perspectives were revealed and many further opportunities for the development of other machines for working on parquet.

Quality - A Virtue

From the beginnings to today the outstanding brand quality determines all Lägler areas of competence. This standard can be sensed even during the development. In the practice Lagler systems have to represent a genuine solution of problems for the user, that is, be properly used before they reach the dealer. "Made in Germany", for Lagler it is more than a slogan. In the complete production process it is the promise of quality which is not only held but also conscientiously tested.

Lagler Technology - A Promise for Performance

In the course of the years Eugen Lägler developed numerous other parquet sanders which were to meaningfully supplement the performance profile of the Hummel. From the Unico Edger over the stair and corner sander Elan to the modern three-disc sander Trio to name a few. These systems have often been copied but never equalled. The floor sanding business without the Hummel is unthinkable and stands unopposed at the peak of international floor sanding technology.

Service Readiness - An Obligation

While he built up a quality orientated product and production area, for Eugen Lägler service for the customer was the upper most principle. A world-wide distribution and service network was set up and the own works consultation and customer service department established. Punctual spare parts deliveries and quick help in case of disturbance guarantee with Lägler a high degree of machine availability and long running times.

Market leadership - A Daily Challenge

Eugen Lägler has now more or less retired from daily business. His son Karleugen and his daughter Susanne continue their father's works with great commitment.

Fifty highly specialised members of staff are available to the medium-sized family business linked into a modern CNC-supported machine and plant park. Everywhere in the world Lägler systems are today the number 1 in the parquet layer business. A success with constantly new challenges and which above all promises innovative products in research and development.
